Adoption buddies

One of the special things about the adoption process is the new friendships and relationships that can be made.

We recently had the pleaure of meeting Leisa and her hubby Brad, at an IAFQ waiting parents dinner. Leisa and I have been reading each other's blogs for a while, and she is even more lovely in person. I'm excited to follow her family's journey adopting from Ethiopia, as they become an 'Aussieopian Family'.

We also spent some time on the weekend hanging out at Scott and Sandie's place. These guys are cool. Funnily enough, we first met online and then ended up being invited to the same Education session with the Dept last December... when we got there, we discovered we lived only a few streets apart.

I believe in the importance of connecting with others and walking this path together, so I'm glad to get to know these girls!

I finally met one blogger in person last weekend and it was wonderful.

I think these connections we have all made, whether in real life or simply through blogs, are so amazing and have really made a difference in how I have handled this adoption wait.

It is so much fun to meet up with your Blogger Buddies. I have met a few and treasure them. You are right...the connection we share makes the wait so much more bearable.

I agree, this would be so much harder to deal with if I didn't have "adoption buddies". Thanks for being one.

I met Heather in person this January. She is as wonderful and sweet as she comes across in her blog. I think this is one of the beautiful things about the adoption community online. All of this waiting and anxiety is bearable with the people you meet along the way on this cyber community. It is indeed a treat when you get to meet face to face.

I didn't quite meet a blog buddy, but I met someone on RQ and we now catch up semi-regularly for lunch and BBQs etc. She has now become a blogger buddy though! Great community... Lisa
